SJOLUND’s History

Over 85+ years of experience

1936

SJOLUND was founded as a local forge in the Danish village of SJOLUND. Company established by Carl Jensen who acquired his uncles old black smith.

1975

SJOLUND started exporting in the 1960s, facilities were expanded to a total of 1.200 m2 in 1975

1985

The expansion continues until SJOLUND reaches 2.500 m2

1992

SJOLUND is officially registered as a share company, Maskinfabrikken Sjølund A/S

1994

Quality control is established, facilities are expanded to 5.000 m2

2007

Change of ownership, a new and more global strategy is pursued. Ownership changes and SJOLUND is now 100% owned by Søren Ravn Jensen

2009

SJOLUND establishes a subsidiary in Hefei, Anhui Province, China.

2016

SJOLUND awarded Owner managed Company of the year (PWC)

2017

Deutsche Beteiligungs AG takes over 51% of SJOLUND (German Private Equity company).

2018

SJOLUND bought a factory in Tallinn, Estonia, specialized in metal sheets and fabrication.

2020

SJOLUND obtain welding certificate EN 15085

2021

Zoran Aleksic joined & appointed as Group CEO

2022

Closing of the factory in Estonia

2022

SJOLUND goes back to their roots. Søren Ravn takes over 100% ownership of SJOLUND.
