Sjolund A/S in Kolding, which handles complex tasks involving the rolling and processing of steel and aluminum profiles, is experiencing growth and is seeking additional employees. The owner, Søren Ravn, will take over the management of the company on October 1st when the current director, Zoran Aleksic, begins a new job in Germany.
Sjolund A/S is once again experiencing growth and expansion and is looking for new employees for its production in Kolding.
After being owned by a German private equity fund for four years, Sjolund A/S returned to Danish ownership in 2022 with Søren Ravn as the owner. The business was struggling, and the strategy for achieving healthy operations and growth has been to reestablish the company as a strong niche player in profile rolling. This has been achieved through a turnaround.
“We are finding success by focusing on what we do best: profile rolling. The latest annual report showed that our processes are running smoothly and that the operations at Sjolund A/S are healthy. Things have only improved since then. That’s why we are also looking for more skilled minds and hands. We want to attract new employees who are eager to learn and are technically creative, so we can continue this positive development,” says Zoran Aleksic, CEO of Sjolund A/S.
Sjolund A/S is primarily engaged in solving complex tasks within the rolling and processing of steel and aluminum profiles for the energy sector, industrial companies, architecture and the transport sector.
Director returns to Germany for family and new job
Sjolund A/S is now robust again, with good orders on the way. Therefore, CEO Zoran Aleksic will leave for Germany with his family at the end of September, at ease with the company’s situation after four years. This has been planned since the beginning of spring, during which he began transferring responsibilities to the management team. “Over the past two years, we have received massive support from employees, customers and partners to rebuild the company and return to healthy operations. I am both proud and grateful for that. Going forward, the company’s owner, Søren Ravn, will take over the daily management tasks together with the rest of the management team,” says Zoran Aleksic.
Besides Søren Ravn, the management team consists of Kasper Straarup, factory manager, and Lars Jørgensen, CFO. Søren Ravn, owner of Sjolund A/S, says: “Zoran Aleksic has done a fantastic job, and I fully understand that family considerations and a new and exciting job are drawing him back to Germany. We have a competent and well-functioning leadership that knows the business and the customers’ needs precisely. Therefore, I am also confident that we can ensure both stability and future growth and development, hopefully with even more skilled employees on board.
Background
Sjolund A/S’s history dates to 1936, when the company was a local blacksmith in the Danish village of Sjølund. Søren Ravn bought the company in 2007 and successfully led it until 2018 when it was sold to a German private equity fund. After a failed strategy, Søren Ravn repurchased the company in 2022.
